How Novora Asset Finance Ltd collects, uses and protects personal information, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Novora Asset Finance Ltd ("Novora", "we", "us") is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 16920025, with a registered office at Bryn-Y-Wawr, Rudry, Caerphilly, CF83 3DF, and we trade from 23 Bartlett Street, Caerphilly, CF83 1JS.

We are an Appointed Representative of Acorn Business Finance Ltd T/a SJT Corporate Finance Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under reference number 822913.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Questions about this policy, or about how we handle your information, should go to proposals@novoraassetfinance.co.uk or 01633 603245.

The information we collect

Information you give us. Your name, business name, job title, email address, telephone number, and details of the finance you are looking for: the asset, the amount, the timescale and anything you tell us about the business.

Information about your business. Company registration details, filed accounts and director information obtained from Companies House and from credit reference and business information agencies.

Financial information. Bank statements, management accounts, existing finance agreements and similar documents, where these are needed to place a proposal with a lender.

Information about your use of this website. Pages visited, the link or advertisement that brought you here, and technical information such as browser type. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not seek special category data. If a lender requires health or similar information to support an application, we will explain why before you provide it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To respond to your enquiry and arrange finance, because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and for the performance of our agreement with you.

To assess how fundable a proposal is, including the indicative funding score on our website: our legitimate interest in matching enquiries to appropriate lenders and in not submitting proposals that are likely to be declined.

To submit proposals to lenders on your behalf: performance of our agreement with you, and your consent where a credit search is involved.

To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks, record keeping and complaint handling: compliance with a legal obligation.

To improve our service and market similar services to business customers: our legitimate interests. You can opt out of marketing at any time, and every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

Lenders and funders. To arrange finance we pass your information to lenders on our panel. Each lender is a separate data controller and will handle your information under its own privacy policy. We approach a shortlist chosen for your circumstances, not the whole panel.

Credit reference and fraud prevention agencies. Searches and checks are carried out as described in our Fair Processing Notice, which you should read alongside this policy.

Service providers. We use third parties to run our systems, including hosting and database providers, our customer relationship management system, and email and telephony providers. They act on our instructions under written terms and may not use your information for their own purposes.

Professional advisers and regulators. Our principal firm, auditors, insurers and legal advisers, and the FCA, the Financial Ombudsman Service or the ICO where we are required or entitled to do so.

Our group. Where a different product would suit you better, we may introduce you to Simply Factoring Brokers. We will tell you before we do, and you can decline.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass your details to lead generators.

Where your information is held

Our systems are hosted within the UK and European Economic Area wherever possible. Where a provider processes information outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum approved by the ICO, together with appropriate additional safeguards.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed: 24 months from your last contact with us.

Customers with a completed agreement: six years from the end of the agreement, to meet our regulatory record-keeping and tax obligations.

Anti-money-laundering records: five years from the end of the business relationship.

Marketing preferences and opt-outs: kept indefinitely, so that we honour your choice.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; to have inaccurate information corrected; to ask us to erase information or restrict how we use it; to object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, including direct marketing; to receive information you gave us in a portable format; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.

Write to proposals@novoraassetfinance.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, on 0303 123 1113, or at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Automated decision-making

The indicative funding score on our website, and the checks this form makes against Companies House, are generated automatically from information filed at Companies House. They are a guide to help us direct your enquiry. They are not a credit decision, and no decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made about you on an automated basis by us.

Lenders to whom we submit a proposal may use automated decision-making as part of their own underwriting. Where that happens, the lender will tell you about it and about your right to request human intervention.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least annually. Where we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, tell you directly.

Fair Processing Notice

Last updated September 2026

What happens to your information when we approach lenders on your behalf, and what credit reference and fraud prevention agencies do with it.

Why we are telling you this

To arrange finance we have to share information about you, your business and its directors with lenders, and with credit reference and fraud prevention agencies. This notice explains what that involves. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and should be read with it.

Searches we carry out

Before you commit. When you use the funding score on our website, or ask us for an indication, we look at publicly filed information at Companies House and at business information held by credit reference agencies. These checks do not leave a footprint that affects your credit score.

When you ask us to proceed. Once you tell us to approach lenders, we and the lenders we approach will carry out credit searches on the business and, where a personal guarantee is being considered, on its directors or proprietors. These searches are recorded. Several applications in a short period can affect how other lenders view you, which is why we submit to a shortlist rather than the whole panel.

We will always tell you before a recorded search is carried out.

Credit reference agencies

The agencies we and our lenders use include Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. They give us information about the business and, where relevant, about directors as individuals. They keep a record of our search.

Where a personal guarantee is involved, the agency will link the records of anyone named as financially associated with you, and that link stays until one of you asks for it to be broken and the agency agrees.

Each agency publishes a Credit Reference Agency Information Notice describing what they do with your information and the rights you have. You can read it at experian.co.uk/crain, equifax.co.uk/crain or transunion.co.uk/crain.

Fraud prevention agencies

We and our lenders may share your information with fraud prevention agencies, and may use information they hold, to prevent fraud and money laundering. If fraud is detected you may be refused finance, insurance, or other services, and a record may be kept by those agencies and used by other organisations.

Fraud prevention agencies may keep your personal information for up to six years, and may transfer it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. You have the right to ask them what they hold about you.

Lenders we approach

We approach lenders selected for your circumstances, and we tell you who they are. Once your information reaches a lender, that lender becomes an independent controller of it and will handle it under its own privacy policy, including for its own credit risk, regulatory and fraud prevention purposes. We will point you to the relevant policy on request.

If you do not want us to share your information

You can tell us at any time to stop. We will not approach lenders without your instruction, and you can withdraw that instruction before a proposal is submitted. Bear in mind that we cannot arrange finance without sharing the information a lender needs to assess it.

About Our Services

Who we are, what we do, who we work with and how we are paid, so you can decide whether our service is right for you.

Novora Asset Finance Ltd is an Appointed Representative of Acorn Business Finance Ltd T/a SJT Corporate Finance Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 822913. You can check this on the Financial Services Register at register.fca.org.uk.

We are a credit broker, not a lender. We arrange finance; we do not provide it ourselves.

What we do

We arrange asset finance (hire purchase, finance lease, operating lease and refinance) for businesses, together with business loans, invoice finance and other commercial facilities where those suit you better.

We will discuss what you are trying to achieve, tell you which forms of finance are realistic, and approach the lenders most likely to support it. We present you with the options we obtain and explain the differences between them. The decision is yours.

We do not give advice on tax or accounting treatment. Speak to your accountant before choosing between structures.

Whose products we offer

We are an independent broker and work with a panel of more than 50 lenders. We are not tied to any one lender, and no lender has an ownership interest in us.

We do not necessarily approach every lender on the panel for every enquiry. We approach those whose criteria fit your business and the asset, because multiple applications can themselves count against you. You may ask us for a list of the lenders we approached on your behalf.

What you will pay

In most cases you pay us nothing directly. We are paid a commission by the lender that provides your finance, and the amount varies between lenders and between products.

Where a fee is payable by you, for example a documentation or arrangement fee on more complex cases, we will tell you the amount in writing before you commit to anything, and you will have the chance to withdraw.

The existence and the nature of any commission will be disclosed to you before you enter into an agreement, and you may ask us for the amount at any time. Where the commission we receive could vary depending on the terms you agree, we will say so.

Your duty to give accurate information

The options we find depend on what you tell us. Please give complete and accurate information about the business, its trading history and any past credit difficulties. Telling us about a problem early almost always produces a better outcome than a lender finding it later.

If something goes wrong

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, tell us. Write to the Managing Director at 23 Bartlett Street, Caerphilly, CF83 1JS, email proposals@novoraassetfinance.co.uk, or call 01633 603245.

We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and, because we are an Appointed Representative, refer it to our principal firm, which is responsible for handling it. You will receive a final response within eight weeks.

If you are not satisfied with that response, or if eight weeks pass without one, eligible complainants may refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service at financial-ombudsman.org.uk, on 0800 023 4567, or at Exchange Tower, London, E14 9SR. Not every business customer is eligible; our final response will tell you whether you are.

Compensation

Most commercial lending and leasing is unregulated business, and is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Where a facility you take out through us is regulated, the position may differ, and we will tell you. More information is at fscs.org.uk.

Governing law

Our dealings with you, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
